SCML and FRESS present the theoretical-practical course for Guides and Interpreters 2020.

This course will take place between 10am-1pm, 2pm-5.30pm over 5 Mondays.

2:30pm-5:30pm – Visit the FRESS Arts and Crafts Workshops

27 January
10am-1pm – Portuguese Furniture | Museum of Decorative Arts, FRESS
2:30pm-5:30pm – Carving and leather embossing workshop | MOBA – Mercado dos Ofícios do Bairro Alto, FRESS

3 February
10am-1pm – The gilded woodcarving and stone inlays | Church of São Roque
2:30pm-5:30pm – Carving and leather embossing workshop | MOBA – Mercado dos Ofícios do Bairro Alto, FRESS

10 February
10am-1pm – Oriental Art | Museu de São Roque
2:30pm-5:30pm – Gilding and paper marbling workshop | MOBA – Mercado dos Ofícios do Bairro Alto, FRESS

17 February
10am-1pm – The Chapel of St. John the Baptist and its collections of textiles and silverwork | Church and Museu de São Roque
2:30pm-5:30pm – Chiselling and passementerie workshop | MOBA – Mercado dos Ofícios do Bairro Alto, FRESS

The workshops are practical classes which provide opportunities to learn more about materials and tools and to try out techniques. They are truly ‘hands-on’. Participants will create small ‘works’ they can take home.

Participants receive a certificate of participation at the end of the course.

Cost per person – €120 for all 5 days

Discounts, AGIC and SNATTI members – €100 for all 5 days
