Training
One of the structural pillars of the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation’s mission is the training and education of craftsmen. The study, defence and transmission of know-how in decorative arts and related crafts contribute to the development of artistic sensitivity, to the safeguarding of intangible heritage, and to enhancing the cultural project at the heart of the Foundation’s origins and mission and supported by the organic triad of ‘museum – school – workshop’.
This foundational mission, supported by the three pillars that sustain it and which are reflected in the Foundation’s Statutes, pursues outcomes in the fields of museology, education and training,
and seeks to contribute to the safeguarding of the arts and crafts, the generational transmission of traditional techniques, and the conservation and restoration of movable and immovable heritage.
